    372

    Registration Number: PTF 718L

    Photo to follow

    Chassis: Leyland National 1151/2R/0402
    Body : Leyland National integral
    Seating Format: B44D
    Built in: 1972
    Original Owner: Ribble
    Fleet Number: 372

    Notes:

This was the second Leyland National to be delivered to Frenchwood. The first 15 were delivered in all over dark red, rather than the NBC Poppy Red and were repainted before entering service. Those that could not immediately be painted were stored in Southport Depot.

372 was allocated  to Fleetwood Depot for most of its life until 1985 when it went to Chorley Depot being withdrawn by September 1987. A photo of it brand new in fleetwood can be found here :-

Upon withdrawal it was converted into a mobile information centre for Lancashire Constabulary by Ribble Engineering and reregistered FIB 1763 . Following this 372 was acquired by Blackpool & Fylde College. It was acquired by the RVPT in 2003 and found to be in better condition than 400 which we had previously acquired so 400 has stripped for spares and scrapped.

Although it has been stripped down to assess what work is needed to restore it , its future is under review following the acquisituion of 382. It is currently used as a store for our National spares.
