    Notes

2413 was one of a mixed batch of 58 buses supplied to the Ministry Of Supply's austerity specification. They were a mixture of Daimler and Guy Arab vehicles with an assortment of bodied and engines. They included Ribble's first ever highbridge vehicles that were sent to Carlisle. 2413 was delivered in 1944 with a Northern Counties body and by the end of the war was also allocated to Carlisle depot. It was later reseated to L27/26R and in 1951/2 sent to S.H. BondLtd of Wythenshawe, Manchester for body rebuild including rounding of the rear domes and fitment of sliding windows. This did little to improve on the poor quality of materials used to construct the body and all the batch were withdrawn in 1954-6. 2413 ended its life at Bootle Depot.

2413, 2435 and 2437 were all sold to Douglas (contractor), Birmingham in 1955/6 via Frank Cowley (dealer) , Salford. The three vehicles were last licensed by Douglas in 1959-60, and the next that is known about them is that 2413 and 2437(which was another Guy but with a pre-war bodyfrom a former Wallasey Corporation Leyland) both ended up with Joe Hunt (dealer) of Molesworth, near Huntingdon. When he decided to close his yard the bus was bought by the British Bus Preservation Group and donated to the Trust on the understanding that we would house it and eventually restore it. Unfortunately, 2437 had already been cut up before we got there.

2413 will need to be sourced from a lottery grant, though we have acquired an engine for it and this is being rebuilt by one of our members.
